Coderetreat is a day-long, intensive practice event, focusing on the fundamentals of software development and design.
What do we do at a code retreat?
The aim of a code retreat is to become better at writing good, clean code and tests. The insistance on TDD, pair programming, retrospectives, and extra challenges all reinforce learning.
- 5 coding sessions
- Before each session, choose a programming language, someone to pair with, and (optionally) a challenge.
- Use Pair-Programming
- Code using Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- After each session, hold a short retrospective.
- After the retrospective, code must be deleted, not put in a branch, not stashed, just deleted with no trace left.
